The development of various schools of Shaivism from proto-Shiva and early worship of Rudra. Trika, named after the use of several triades ( trika ) in its philosophy, was a subdivision of the Kaula-tradition, probably originated outside Kashmir before 8oo CE, but the pratyabhijñā developed in Kashmir.
